Chevrolet in Europe
In Europe, Chevrolet’s operations include its European headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, about 25 national sales companies and offices as well as 2,500 sales and service outlets. Chevrolet Europe is a lean and dynamic marketing, sales and distribution company for Chevrolet cars and SUVs, it employs about 820 people.
Chevrolet has great potential for further growth in Western and Central Europe because it offers one of the freshest model line-ups in the industry, it is entering new segments with new models and powertrains, it meets European customers’ needs, including 5-Star safety ratings in EuroNCAP tests and last but not least because of its unique position as an American brand with legendary heritage.
The spirit of optimism and opportunity and the passion for driving combined with our focus on expressive design and the essential details, are what connects our brand to customers around the world. The European Chevrolet line-up includes the Spark city car, the small Aveo sedan and hatchback, the compact Cruze sedan and hatchback, the Orlando family van, the Captiva SUV, the legendary Camaro and Corvette sports cars and the extended-range Volt electric car. In 2012, Chevrolet is launching the Cruze station wagon and the Malibu mid-size sedan.
In Europe, Chevrolet is corporate partner of SOS Children’s Villages International and offers students of applied art schools the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities in its annual Young Creative Chevrolet contest. Chevrolet won the World Touring Car Championship in 2010 and 2011.
Chevrolet is General Motors’ largest global brand with annual sales of more than four and a half million vehicles in more than 140 countries. It is the fourth biggest global car brand in terms of sales and also one of the fastest growing brands in the world. Chevrolet cars combine bold design, performance, innovation and practicality. They provide outstanding value for money. Established in the U.S. by Swiss émigré Louis Chevrolet in 1911, the brand celebrated its centenary in 2011. The brand was re-launched in Europe in 2005. Chevrolet cars are designed and developed in the U.S.A., South Korea, Germany, Brazil and Australia.
