Technical Rotation and Career Knowledge (TRACK) Program: Get your heart pumping and career path moving. Meet TRACK: an early career program that actively builds industry drivers, functional leaders and vehicles of change. Here's your chance to hit the ground running and immerse yourself in a specific function at GM. Designed to accelerate your career while developing a comprehensive toolkit of skills, TRACK takes you through 2 to 3 years of rotations to help you answer the question: Where's the best place to make an impact?

TRACK was built and created for university students about to graduate with a Bachelor's degree, but it's also great for candidates recently graduated with a Bachelor's and/or advanced degree and up to three years of related experience. The program takes you through a series of challenging projects to develop the functional expertise you need to drive growth. Customized rotations provide hands-on learning opportunities in technical centers, manufacturing facilities and corporate offices throughout Michigan and the United States.

All the while, participants define the future of automotive. You'll learn from experienced mentors who will foster your development. Networking, innovation sessions and community projects are just the beginning. TRACK candidates are identified through on-campus interviews by GM Talent Scouts and through internal nomination processes. Once selections are finalized, participants are matched to projects that align with their passions.

+Finance

Global Corporate Finance, which consists of Operations Finance and the Treasurer's Office, has created the Finance TRACK Program to produce GM’s next generation of Finance leaders. Consisting of a Development TRACK for those with Bachelor degrees and a Manager TRACK for those with an MBA and several years’ of work experience, these programs offer three rotational assignments every 12-18 months. Most positions are in Southeastern Michigan, but can also include a plant and, in later rotations, possibly overseas in business units or regional treasury centers. This is an excellent opportunity to roll up your sleeves and impact Finance areas including but not limited to: Product Development, Manufacturing, Global Purchasing & Supply Chain, Mergers and Acquisitions, Capital Markets, Treasury Operations, Audit, Investor Relations and Financial Planning & Analysis.

+Global Purchasing & Supply Chain

Global Purchasing and Supply Chain (GPSC) has a TRACK program for new college graduates who want to be challenged to seek solutions directly impacting GM products and programs. The program is designed for candidates with a Bachelor or Master's degree and customized to a candidate’s skill set.
 
Our program is approximately two years in duration and consists of 2-3 assignments. The candidate will rotate through some of the following areas: Purchasing (both commodity and program based), Supplier Quality, Logistics, and/or our Supply Chain Operations. Additionally, the candidate may also have the opportunity to work at one of our plant locations as part of their development. This allows the candidate to see first-hand how their decision impacts the entire supply chain and logistics process.
 
Candidates will be paired with a formal mentor and provided exposure to the GPSC leadership team. Candidates will be given meaningful assignments allowing them to provide General Motors with tangible savings and ultimately impacting the bottom line.

+Sales, Service & Marketing

The Sales, Service and Marketing (SSM) organization offers two exciting TRACK programs allowing participants to be an integral part of General Motors’ transformation. Our SSM TRACK is for those with a Bachelor's degree, while our Marketing TRACK is for those with an MBA degree and several years of work experience. 

Our SSM TRACK program is for recent college graduates to take on important roles to build our brand equity and drive shareholder value. This is a two-year rotational program that consists of five 3-6 month assignments. You will rotate through marketing, field sales, forecasting sales and more. This new program is differentiated by providing a formalized mentoring program with marketing leaders. You’ll be challenged to think about the total enterprise in everything you do, while impacting the growth of GM brands by working directly with dealers — and gaining valuable knowledge of the automotive business.

The Marketing TRACK program is a three-year rotational leadership development program that offers an accelerated, customized career path. It is designed to prepare you to become a future Marketing Leader within General Motors. This program consists of three, one-year assignments in the areas of Global Product Marketing, Global Brand Marketing and Global Marketing Centers of Excellence. You will have the opportunity to follow a range of diverse paths, depending which of the functions most excite you. This new program has a formalized mentoring program with marketing leaders and is differentiated by providing a global (overseas) in-market assignment in a key/emerging market (eg. Brazil, Russia, China, India or Korea), as well as exposure to the major marketing functions within the Global Chevrolet and Cadillac Divisional Brands.
