Global Purchasing & Supply Chain

One of the largest functions at GM, we are dedicated to exceeding our customers' expectations by delivering innovative, affordable, quality parts on time, every time. By empowering and challenging our team, we are continuously improving and transforming how we do business, with the customer always in mind. Our TRACK program helps you grow and develop with challenging assignments, access to mentors, and exposure to the Executive Leadership team. Our two-year rotations may include assignments through:

Manufacturing Engineering

We are the bridge between Product Design, Engineering, and Manufacturing Operations in GM Plants worldwide. Our team is responsible for the outstanding execution of vehicle projects/programs. We offer both technical and leadership development TRACK programs for those with undergraduate degrees in an engineering discipline and some experience in a manufacturing environment.

All assignments include mentors, homeroom assignments, and exposure to the Executive Leadership team throughout the program. Our two to four-year rotation programs are individually designed with well-defined business/learning objectives and scheduled reviews for comprehension and capabilities. Rotations may include assignments through:

  • Assembly Plants
  • Casting Facilities
  • Headquarters
  • Powertrain Plants
  • Stamping Plants
  • Suppliers

Our powertrain engineers use advanced technologies to improve vehicle fuel economy, enhance performance, reduce emissions, and provide customers with an unprecedented choice of alternative propulsion systems. You'll learn from industry leaders and gain invaluable experience in one or more of the following areas: electrification, transmissions, gas engines, diesel engines, and fuel cells. The types of jobs you may experience in these areas include:

Sales, Service, & Marketing

The Sales, Service, and Marketing (SSM) organization offers two exciting TRACK programs, allowing you to be an integral part of our transformation.

Undergraduate TRACK (SSM Focused)

This program is for recent college graduates who are ready to take on important roles and build our brand equity, driving value for our shareholders. This two-year rotational program consists of five different three to six-month assignments. Exposure areas will include:

  • Field Sales
  • Forecasting Sales 
  • Marketing

You'll be challenged to think about our total enterprise in everything you do, while impacting the growth of GM brands. Working directly with dealers, you'll gain valuable knowledge of the automotive business.

MBA TRACK (Marketing Focused)

Spread the energy of GM throughout the world. Our Marketing TRACK program is a three-year rotational leadership development program that offers an accelerated, customized career path. You'll have the opportunity to build your own road. Take your excitement and drive as you prepare to become a future marketing leader within GM. We developed this program as three, one-year assignments in the areas of:
