Creative Design

Student designers will hone their talents working alongside our world-renowned creative professionals in our Production and Advanced studios in Michigan and California. We are seeking students pursuing Bachelor or Master of Fine Arts degrees for opportunities as:

  • An Interior or Exterior Automotive Designer

Global Planning & Program Management

The Global Planning and Program Management (GPPM) organization is seeking the next generation of visionaries to drive the evolving global auto industry. GPPM’s MBA TRACK is a unique leadership development program in which candidates will have the opportunity to rotate through three U.S. based assignments across multiple disciplines. This three-year program will challenge participants to apply their critical-thinking skills, while also honing their decision-making abilities.

Candidates will gain exposure to GM’s global business, beginning with a rotation in Consumer Insights, Competitor Intelligence or Market Analytics. Subsequent rotations will be in other Planning functions, and may include:

  • Program Management
  • Powertrain Planning
  • Technology Planning
  • Innovation
  • Global Product Portfolio Planning

Program/Assignment Length:

Global Purchasing & Supply Chain

One of the largest functions at GM, we are dedicated to exceeding our customers' expectations by delivering innovative, affordable, quality parts on time, every time. By empowering and challenging our team, we are continuously improving and transforming how we do business, with the customer always in mind. Our TRACK program helps you grow and develop with challenging assignments, access to mentors, and exposure to the Executive Leadership team. Our two-year rotations may include assignments through:

  • Containers
  • Direct Purchasing (Commodity and Program Team Buyers)
  • Indirect Purchasing
  • Logistics
  • Supply Chain

Our HR team is entrusted with the crucial tasks of fortifying our dynamic workforce with the best talent globally and facilitating organizational changes for optimal performance. At GM, HR serves at the very heart of our operation, working to ensure that we can accomplish our mission most efficiently. Our TRACK program was developed to build bench strength within the HR function, including but not limited to:

  • Global Talent and Development

  • Could also include cross-functional assignments with Global People Services or a line role as a 2nd rotation (e.g. COE first, then people services, then HRBP).

Manufacturing Engineering

Key to our success is the highly experiential basis of our programs and the ability to customize a development plan for every individual based on interests and business needs. All assignments include mentors, homeroom assignments and exposure to the Executive Leadership team throughout the program.

Our development programs provide recent college graduates real-world experience in diverse career paths and specialties within Global Manufacturing Engineering – building competency and confidence in every step.

Powertrain TRACK is a program for new college graduates designed to build foundational skills for engineers at GM Powertrain through a series of rotational assignments. The assignments develop both technical depth and broad organizational knowledge, which prepare you for your longer-term position in the company.
